Well, not this time, rather
Motion pictures in stamps.

This issue concerning the mutiny of the Bounty,
came about after an essay for Pitcairn's Island,
showed the stern of the Vessel Bounty.

King George 6 vetoed the design and insisted on a side view.

The resultant stamp shows a side view of HMAV Bounty
from a "still" from the 1935 MGM motion picture "Mutiny on the Bounty"

Presumably drawn from this much reproduced view

This is a site that credits the artist / engraver of the image, very rare
elsewhere.

Wow! thanks Gazza, (beautiful print)
actually the print is credited,
and the entire print is depicted on the 8d of 1967 apparently
(me no have)
Fletcher Christian and 5 mutineers appears from this print
(including breadfruit trees) on the 1d and 2/6d

Interesting to note the Pitcairners applied for their own
stamps for years, until such time as NZ started sale of
stamps on the Island.
The Poms finally sat up and realised people might
think the island belonged to NZ.
A year later 1940, the Kings regulations followed
for a PO on the Island.

The essay of the stern view is still missing.
