If you are not too busy batting Noodles empty head out of the ballpark
and have some time, what were these for?

Those are European equivalents of 6V6 beam power tubes at a
ridiculously high price, hoping to attract "audiophools" with little
knowledge or sense and a lot of money. KT66s were European
equivalents of 6L6s, and KT88s substituted for 6550s.

These were not made for home use were they?

Yes, they are. Any professional sound engineer would laugh their
asses off at these things for professional use. Note again the
overinflated prices! This is "audiophool" equipment.

It also should be noted that these aren't even high quality KT77s, but
rather cheap Chinese versions, worth about $10 a pair.
