Bob Hairgrove threw out the question:
Genuine or not?

Sure, I'll comment. I surely wouldn't buy the coin from the merits of
that photo. But from what I can see, it looks like there's two much of a
"hump" on the top line of Liberty's bosom. There might also be too much
space between the top of the numerals in the date and the bottom of the
bust line.

Thanks! This is a great link.

It's what I was afraid of ... (it's a she, BTW) ... But where does she
get all the nice pictures?? So far I'm only out about $20, so it's no
big deal ... I never bid much over $50 on eBay from people I do not
know/trust, anyway.

I'll keep everyone posted as to whether or not she delivers. She has
already had one item withdrawn by EBay (too late for me to withdraw
the other bids ... but as I said earlier, $20 is no big deal). Here
are the details:

quote:

"Dear Robert Hairgrove [e-mail mangled by me]),

The following listing:

3954017709 - COIN FROM AN ESTATE COINS COLLECTION NO RESERVE

has been removed from eBay for violating eBay policy. Since this
listing was removed, you are not required to complete the transaction.

For a complete list of eBay's policies, please visit:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/item_allowed.html

Regards,

Customer Support (Trust and Safety Department)
eBay"

/unquote

I'll be darned if I can find any trace of my bidding on that item,
though ... all her other stuff is still listed, but I never bid on
that item AFAIK (hard to tell since EBay has pulled it).

I don't like it, (fields & color), I don't like the photos, I don't bid
w/o seeing rev, & I don't like the seller. :-)

Actually, he is a she....and known on the eBay Coin and Currency Board
as the "Savannah Scammer".

A lot of the coins she sells are fake...and she is famous for ending
her auction description with "looks all good to me"
