Default Motive for "novelty" photography?

Got any ideas why this gentleman would offer photos such as these?

I guess he's trying to show the "proof like" reflectivity of the coin??

Actually, it's a pretty clever idea to show the PL designation a
little. From what I can tell, it's a nice coin.

1. He really does NOT know how to set the camera up for macro photos.
2. He is NOT a photographer.
3. He doesn't care that you cannot really see the coin.
4. He doesn't want you to really see the coin.
5. He has a lousy camera.
6. He thinks they are good photos :-(

Any or all of the above MAY apply...

Try and feel free to
critique the photos of those coins, as well as the grades I've
assigned to these coins... I may well be wrong in my assignments and
you can feel free to email me to say so, as long as you tell me why
you differ. I know that these photos are NOT perfect but they are
macro photos taken with a FujiFilm A101 from between 3 and 5 inches
from the coin. Having to use a flash causes most of the problems, but
that is unavoidable. I have 8 OLD US coins there [1 50C, 1 25C 1 20C 1
10C 1 5C and 3 3C], one Canadian coin and a set of Hungarian coins
right now, and will be adding to the site.

Normally one does that by using a business card instead of
just colored slips of paper ...
IIRC it ustabin that if you could read a business card in
the mirror of a coin from 4 - 6 inches away it was considered
a PL. Being able to read it from more than 6 inches away
made it a DMPL.
