Default Publisher Pocket Guide?

Can anyone recommend a portable guide, similar to the McBride booklets,
that list authors with the publisher of the first trade edition of
their works? As far as I can tell, McBride won't tell me if a book is
the true first, or the first edition of a reprint. This would be for
American & English fiction writers of the last ~100 years.
Thanks in advance

Not exactly what you're looking for, but check out the Author Price Guides
from Allen and Patricia Ahern's Quill and Brush: "Bibliographic price guides
for over 170 authors. Include a facsimile of the author's signature; a brief
biographical sketch; an up-to-date list of the author's first editions
(American and British) with entries for limited and trade editions; number
of copies printed (if available); how to identify the first edition and
estimated values." (from their Web site, http://www.qbbooks.com/guides.htm)

They're printed on letter-sized paper, punched to fit a 3-ring binder.
Prices range from $1.50 to $44.25, plus postage. Or you can get all 174 on
CD for $250, which is more portable. Of course, you might need a computer to
be able to use it...
