Default Publisher/BC question

Someone asked the question and I couldn't answer, so I come to the
experts (that's ya'll).

Can anyone cite an instance of a book being released simultaneously by
both the publisher and as a book club edition?

And if so, are there any significant differences?

Respectfully, Robin

Barry Levin reported a Stephen King books where the Book Club edition was
less than a week after the trade. Stephen Donaldson's first book was *first*
published by the SFBC because the trade publisher was waiting for the cover
art.

"Simultaneous?" Special relativity has something to say about that. 8)

That's right, and I thought that was the big significance
of the clipped jacket. If the jacket has the price on it,
it's the real thing.

All you have to do with the BC ed. is clip the empty space
that *would* have the price and it can masquerade as the
priceclipped first ed.
