Default ABR Columns

Earlier this year, IIRC, we had a discussion on biblio-periodicals.
Someone (Sandy Malcolm, methinks) pointed to the value of the columns
in the *Antiquarian Book Review*, without wanting to commit
financially to that entire enterprise (i.e., ABR's subscription rate
is a bit stiff, particularly on this side of the pond).

Now I have discovered a solution. One, at least, of ABR's columnists
posts his columns to his own www site: William Reese, the well-known
Americana dealer, has all his columns at:

http://www.reeseco.com/papers/abr.htm

If you are not instructed by them, you will at least, I predict, be
entertained.

Thanks for this link, Bill. I did say how enjoyable I found the columns relative
to the rest of the mag, and William Reese's are invariably entertaining, as you
say. He did a particularly interesting one (IMHO) on what he claims are
widespread forgeries of slave-trade broadsides currently (or recently) being
offered for sale; it's at http://www.reeseco.com/papers/abr7.htm. He ends the
column by saying that he has "no inclination to emulate Carter and Pollard" but
that he hopes someone will poke into this rats' nest. Has anyone heard anything
about this more recently? (WR's column appeared in the Aug/Sep 2002 issue.)

Now, if only Ed Maggs, Sandra Hindman and Brian Lake could be persuaded to put
their columns up on their respective websites for free...
