Default Rockola Legend

Hi Gang: I've got a problem witha Rockola Legend cd box and need a
little help with it.
When you select a cd and it loads it into the player it starts spinning
but the amp stays muted until about 10 seconds into the song in other
words the first part of music is lost. Anyone have any ideas about
how to adjust the timing of the mute circuit for the amp for it to
unmute earlier?
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
Roy

Roy,

When you say "Legend", are you referring to the 6000-X "Legend", 6000-1X "Anniversary Legend" or the 7000-(n)X "Sybersonic Legend?

On the 6000-X with the "black" electronics (S-5A System) you should check for any of these:

1. Current software revision = 56999-5.8 Eprom at U20.

2. Cracked or cold solder joints on audio jacks of the CD Interface (Monoboard) located on the front of the mechanism.

3. In the 56180-2A amplifier (fitted with an Anti-Hiss PCB), check the value of R50. It should be a 62 Ohm 5 Watt.

4. Poor connections between the monoboard and the CD player assembly. Cable itself may be intermittent or have tarnished contacts.

5. Defective mute relay in amp.

I also have seen the thermal overload shunt mounted on the final transistors' heat sink assembly have its wires pinched under the heat sink, but this caused a constant "overload" condition on the amp. Are there any other "interesting" characteristics of this amps operation?
