Some silver dimes show up in the Altoid "change box"
I do a bunch of grocery/convenience store runs on the bike each week
and decided to check out the c. 10 dimes in my Altoids money box, just for kicks as I follow what you guys often find in your change or bank runs. Result: 1 1944-S Mercury and one 1959-D Roosevelt. I never expected such a nice result. The only other time I found such neat coins was about 30 years ago as a cashier in a fast food restaurant when I was recovering a few war nickels every day during spring break (I figured some kid somewhere broke into a collection). Anyway, I can't remember when I found a Mercury in my change. A blast from the past for me as I'm not old enough that Mercuries were ever common in change (at least as I recall). |

Nice find. I do find some, but not much silver any more. Jumps out at
you when you have one.
