RIP dan fogelberg

i only went after him once...back when i got nirvana, i started trying
to get every musician that came through town (phoenix) and this was
one of them. he was right after nirvana, so technically my second
musician that i went after on purpose (i went after guns and roses and
u2 when they were staying at the same hotels i was when i was in vegas
for a couple of fights). he played at a venue where the accessibility
was a chain link fence between you and the stars as they went to their
vans or their tour buses. he couldn't sign before the show so we hung
out, listened to the music (you could also hear everything as it was
an outdoor venue) and hung out with a much older crowd than we (i
think i was 16 or 17) who were all really cool, even though we didn't
know much about him.
but after the show, he came right over to the fence and signed for
everyone...some lady asked him to take a picture with her and he came
out of the fence and started doing that too...that was really cool. he
was really nice...i wasn't in to pictures with celebs then and i did a
few albums that night, so did my friend.

that was a great year for autographs for me, that was before i started
selling...and yes, i still have all that nirvana stuff. and yes, i did
get a photo with kurt cobain. but it was sad to see this one pass...i
understand that dan had it real bad with the cancer though, and maybe
he's in a better place.
