Franklin Mint British Virgin Islands Treasure Coins of the Caribean
I've got a collection of 20 $25 coins made by the Franklin Mint and they are
titled "Treasure Coins of the Caribean". I've been told they may be worth $25.00 US Currency each if I brought them to the BVI (British Virgin Islands). Does anyone know where I might be able to get more information about the value of the coins if I brought them to the BVI? Thanks! |

In a similar vein, i've got 24 x $50 silver proof coins minted for The Marshall Islands. (I'm rich!...I'm rich!) Apparently they can be exchanged for $50 US there...but on a one coin per person per day only basis. Bummer!! Anyone have a reliable contact in the Marshall Islands I can trust to cash these in and forward the proceeds to me? Don't all answer at the same time now... :-) John, the main medium of exchange in the BVI's is the US dollar apparently. However, the coinage of the BVI's is legal tender. That is, they would be exchangeable for goods and services...and (probably) in the BVI's for $'s US. |

IIRC, the Marshall Islands changed it's policy of redeeming their non-circulating legal tender coins for US cash. So, the $50 denomination is completely arbitrary at this point, other than to signify that those are the silver issues (as opposed to the CuNi issues with a $5 denomination). Good news is that the bullion value of those Marshall Island silver coins is now as high as it has ever been. Cheers! |

The top is stained with my tears when I realised that i'd struggle to ever get my original `investment' back out of them. Never fear, silver might go over $50 per ounce at some point........ ;-) Ian |

I've been toying with the idea of pairing them together and making sets of novelty cufflinks with them. I think they would probably sell better that way. ;-) Ian `get your Marshall Islands silver medallions here' |

It's working fine, I don't know what happened! The only "British" e-mail I received is this: "British Lottery Program YOUR E-MAIL HAS WON THE BRITISH LOTTERY PROMOTION" LOL Have you remembered to remove *all* capital letters, low case lines *included*?... Yep. I'll try once again. Ian |
