Palin and Beck and the rest don't get it. Whether it is of the vast left
wing conspiracy or the media, they just love being the victim, and that is
the height of hypocrisy. The hard truth is this: Palin has decided that as
part of her political persona, she is going to use extreme, aggressive, in
your face, and threatening language and imagery to dehumanize and
marginalize her opponents. Fine, that's her right. But now, when people
respond in kind because of a senseless and tragic event that more or less
mirrors the imagery and language she uses, she is the victim? Please. She is
incapable of bearing responsibility or showing humility. Had she said, "In
light of what happened in Tucson we regret our use of unfortunate images and
language in the election, and never intended for it to be construed as
wanting to cause harm to anyone. We are shocked that this sick individual
did this and will work to do whatever it takes to make sure these sorts of
tragedies never occur again" she would probably deflect much of this. But
no, Sarah nor the right can never admit to being wrong, or mistaken, or in
error, not when there is an opportunity to cast themselves as the victim.

It was chilling this weekend to see how cheerleaders for the regime tried
to extract policitical advantage from the Arizona shooting.

Thanks to the internet and alternative media they did not succeed (this
time) in turning the shooting into their version of the "Reichstag Fire"
to suppress political speech.

Until now opposing the agenda of the Executive Branch predictably led to
be branded a racist. People aren't cowed by that tactic anymore when it
became clear in November that the majority of American opposed the
regime's agenda. Far more dangerous to the Republic will be their new push
to criminalize political speech. Orwell described it best when he coined
the phrase "thought crime".

Sadly, you have no idea what your talking about. Besides, both sides have
used the same tactics through history. Even now, the Dems are using those
tactics against the GOP. The Dems were the one's who made a movie about
the assanation of George Bush and they glorified it.

Now if you were smarter and looked at the facts, politics has absolutly
nothing to do with the shooting. The shooter was never political and is just
a mentally ill looser and had always been a danger that never was reported.
Yet, it was the left media that turned it political thanks the the NYT and
the rest just jumped right in after them. If you think this is political,
then you must be a complete idiot.

As a Jew, I am incredibly offended with Palin's remarks that criticism
of her is "blood libel." That's a term used against Jews for
millennia accusing Jews first of the killing of Jesus, and then later
as scandalous lies that Jews kidnap Christian babies for occult blood
rituals. Untold millions of Jews died over "blood libel" and Palin
uses ther term to gain sympanthy for herself.

Yep. The only question in my mind is whether this was a deliberate,
calculated slur, or just another example of her tone-deafness to the
sensitivities of "the others".

I think the blame here belongs to her handlers and speech writers. I'm sure
no one actually believes the "mama grizzly" ever would have heard of that
phrase before or had any idea of its significance to others. Yet they
continue to wind her key and send her out there.

Yep. She's probably clueless on the origins and implications of the term.
So my question also applies to her handlers. Was it an uninformed
reference, or a deliberate, coded slur playing to the anti-Semitic yahoos?

Turnabout is fair play.
So anyone who doesn't agree with you is a bigot, eh?
