Default (RCSD) Italian Castles series

Does anyone know if the Italian Castles series - first issue Septemebre 22,
1980 - is in fact complete or if are there more issues anticipated? I
visited the philatelic pages of Poste Italiane but did not find a single
word about the series.

Thanks in advance for all assistance.

That is hardly surprising as all definitives issued now are of the
"La donna nell'arte" series (Women in Art). No castles series stamps have
been issued since the switch to the euro.

Do not forget that several of the designs come in two or more forms, with
perforation variations (50, 100 & 550 lire perf 13.25 instead of perf 14x13.25)
date at base (50 lire), and gravure instead of recess (200, 250, 300 and 450 lire)
never mind all the smaller coil stamps.

The last new castle stamps to be issued were the gravure ones
mentioned above, in February 1994.
