I don't know if this is normally the case with him, but I noticed
today that a couple people had Chalie Daniels Autographs (cheap paper
ones but they were hand signed and dedicated). I didn't have a shot
at getting one. We decided to eat before going to the concert and we
were in Cracker Barrell FOREVER waiting for a table and then the food.
By the time we got to the concert, it had been going for a half hour.
The crowd was so thick we couldn't even get close at all.

Anyway, just thought I'd mention it because looks like the band
probably brought the photos to be signed... so get there REALLY early
and ask close to the stage. Doesn't hurt!

Sue,

My family and I got there around 5pm. Like you said it was crowded. We
got over on the left side of the stage by the buses. We were like 6
rows back. I went over by the buses and talked to one of Charlies
people. He told me and 1 lady that Charlie may sign after the show &
that he did a meet and greet for an hour before the show. He told us
the last song would be The Devil went down to Georgia. He also told us
if Charlie won't sign he'd give us a signed picture. I went back over
by the buses mid way thru Devil. The guy noticed me and my 1 son, he
then went over to the red truck, got out a picture and handed it to my
son. It looks real. The lady was still there and she had a picture the
guy had given her. He also gave one to another lady and said he didn't
have anymore. We waited as Charlie came off the stage but he went
behind the stage to the bus the farthest away, and didn't sign any
autographs. One of the guitarist came out and started signing was able
to get 2 from him with the help of a Bay Days volunteer. Charlies bus
left as we were standing there.

Very Cool Mike; I saw the photos; black and white; and he presigned
them (I just had that feeling); but he was signing some or at least
personalizing the presigned one. Oh well. My bad (I am not too huge a
country fan but his music is pretty good). In 10 years of living here,
I've never been to Bay Days. There was a stone wall of people closer
to the stage; I didn't want to step on toes as I remember how it was
when people did that with Joan Jett (pushy people trying to squeeze
into 6" literally of space).

Glad you got one. If you ever get a lead next time, let me know!
I'll give ya my cell phone number and if I am at an event you are and
I get there, I'll call ya to hurry over!

Today I wasn't really trying because we had my eldest son and his
girlfriend who was kind of grumpy.

Sue,

It was presigned (but real) but not personalized.
And it was black and white. Looks like the ones I got by emailing his
website and requesting one. Been to Bay Days 3 years in a row now
(since I moved down here from Northern Va). 2 years ago we saw Chely
Wright it was in a different place with lots of grass, not as crowded
as Charlie, and she wouldn't sign anything. Last year in the same spot
as Chely, we saw Emerson Drive. A friend of my wife was there and had
back stage passes and got a picture signed for her. Then after the show
they came out to the souvenier stand and signed. That one was the least
crowded. We were 2nd in line for Emerson Drive, don't know how long
they signed as we left after we got our stuff signed.

Sure give me your cell, but send it off group to and
I'll send you mine.

A heads up: Sometime in Feb. 2007 the foodbank is going to have Paula
Deen the chef at the Hampton Roads Convention Center for a cooking show
and as of right now they say she'll be signing autographs. I'll let you
know more as I find out more.

Thanks Mike; I'll email you offline sometime tomorrow. There's always
something going on here, Norfolk or VA Beach; so you never know!

Right now, only plans to do Bookfest (right now plans might change for
that) and in October Homearama. They had a Chef there once and also a
newsperson at one I believe. Local though. Also thinking of heading
to the lighthouse in Matthews County. Haven't ever been up there.

When are they gonna have an autograph show at the Convention Center!?!
LOL
