what are the front cover dimensions of the old whitman coin folders?
Hello all. I am helping a friend deal with an old family coin
collection. We have to move a bunch of old coin books to a new safe deposit box. What I need to find out is the size (the front cover length and width) of those old blue Whitman coin folders and books. He has a bunch of them purchased around 1960 to 1966. Some are the cheap folders which display only the front of the coin. Some are the more expensive books with the plastic slides that let you see both sides of the coins. He has books (containing coins) for many different American coins: Lincoln cents, Indian cents, large cents, half cents, jefferson nickels, indian nickels, various dimes, quarters, halfs, etc. As I recall from my youth, all these books were the same size in terms of the length and width of the cover. They only vary in thickness, depending on the number of pages. Or, perhaps all the cheap folders were the same size and the expensive books were a different size. I'm not sure. It's been many years since I collected coins. I don't know if the modern books are the same size as the old ones, so I thought I would ask for help here. I'm sure some of you still have your old coin books from the 60's. Can anyone tell me what the length and width is for these books? Thanks in advance for helping! |
