8 time all star, 2774 hits, 438 HRs Canseco- no Primarily a DH, very bad fielder Ablert Belle- no Same as Canseco Blyleven- yes 287 wins, 3701 strikeouts Tommy John- yes 288 wins, 3 time 20 game winner Chris Cathcart wrote: (Johndaigle1) wrote in message ... andre dawson jose canseco albert belle bert blyleven tommy john No, no, no, yes, no. If Blyleven only managed to strike out a lot more hitters and give up more runs per game, he'd be . . . Nolan Ryan. personally id only vote for 1 of em BB |

Dawson- yes
8 time all star, 2774 hits, 438 HRs ***YES- least we forget he is also a member of the elite 300/300 club. Canseco- no Primarily a DH, very bad fielder ***NO- as you said, a very bad fielder, and primarily DH. Ablert Belle- no Same as Canseco ***NO- altho i would rate him just a tad above Canseco. Blyleven- yes 287 wins, 3701 strikeouts ***YES- one of few with 3500 strikeouts, close to 300 wins. Tommy John- yes 288 wins, 3 time 20 game winner ***NO- this is a tough one, because personally, i think he got his "name" due to the "surgery". he was also on better teams than Bert "Be Home" Blyleven. He did have good stats tho, so like i said, it's a close call. what about Ron Santo? ***YES- compares statistically with all the other third basemen. Is usually in top three or four in all the catagories. |
