The University of Texas at San Antonio is weeding their rare book
collection. I would like to post the link to the titles but am afraid
I'll get barked at.

Ah go on!

Go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on!

Go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on!

Go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on!

Hi Jon
What books are they weeding?
I picked up some good titles when my local college started weeding their
rare book collection. I don't think anyone here would bark at you. We all
like leafing through some new titles from thyme to time.

Diane

Well if you want me to but when the Hardy Boys come after me...

I'll get the tea made so. And plenty of cakes. All little boys like cakes.

"Gee Frank," wondered Joe Hardy, "What types of posts are inappropriate in
rec.collecting.books?"
"Gosh Joe," replied his brother Frank Hardy, "I don't know. Let's look at
the FAQ."
1.2 What Kind of Posts are Inappropriate?
* Want to buy ...
* For sale ...
* For auction ...
"You should have thought of that in the first place!" snapped their peppery
Aunt Gertrude.

"Yes, Frank, and look down here at the next section," Joe said. "It says:

*Event announcements: Fairs, shows, auctions, etc.

I think a university book sale is an event!"

"Me, too," said Joe.

"Well, who said it wasn't!" interjected Aunt Gertrude.

Kind of like the "event" B&N and Amazon.com have, right?

The means and methods, whys and wherealls by which institutions and
libraries relinquish their rarities are certain a good topic for this
forum. While it would be forbidden for the institution or its agents
to post their wares here, it certainly would be informative to have a
highly respected collector cast a critical eye on their offerings, and
convey his opinions here.
