American Silver Flatware Book in DJ, N. Turner, c. 1979

This book titled, American Silver Flatware 1837-1910, by Noel D. Turner is
in its original dust jacket and in excellent condition. It is published by
A. S. Barnes and Co., Inc., Cranbury, New Jersey, 3rd Printing, Copyright
1979. The book is 473 pages and is a complete book on American Silver
Flatware. The book contains (alphabetically) over 3,000 Victorian
silversmiths, 400 manufacturers and their trademarks, and more than 2,000
sterling and electroplate flatware patterns with their dates of
introductions. The book starts is a brief look at the history of eating
utensils from their primitive beginnings through the (flowering) formal sets
of the eighteenth century. There are sections of early Victorian
silversmiths and later machine manufactures and retailers marks. This is a
great reference book for anyone collecting silver flatware (spoons). The
book measures 9 inches x 11 1/2 inches and is in excellent condition. There
are no loose or missing pages, no tears, stains, or water marks. The spine
is still nice and solid. The is no damage to the dust jacket. The book is
Ex-Lib canceled.
