Default Continental lubrication advice needed

From reading the various forums and publications, I know that over-
oiling and/or using the incorrect type of oil & grease can cause a lot
of problems - more than no lubrication at all. Probably because of
this, and the fact that my 1962 Continental runs smoothly, I have not
oiled or greased the machine in the past ten years but feel that now
is the time and would like some advice.

1. The instructions for the Continental machine do not say to oil the
pin bank. It seems to me that for that sort of mechanism a drop of
light watch oil on each pin, followed by manually moving and twisting
the pin to distribute the oil would be prudent. What are your
thoughts?

2. Most of the mechanism calls for grease rather than oil. In some
places Stanobar grease is called out and in others Stanobar #2.
Neither are available. What is a suitable substitute? I know that
other jukeboxes use Lubriplate. Can I use that as a substitute for
the places that Stanobar or Stanobar No 2 is called out? Is plain
Silicone or Lithium grease better? I have some gun lubrication that
has Teflon in it. Maybe that would be good to use?

3. Can you recommend any rubber conditioning products for the idler
wheel and the long rubber band that holds the records in place?

Thanks,

Paul
