Wurlitzer Americana II won't start with button selection
I'm able to start a song by manually hitting a switch on the wobble
plate. The unit will engage and release a number, after pressing a number and letter on the front panel, but will never fire a letter solenoid, the letter solenoids all test at 6ohms which i've been told is good. It looks as though a previous owner had messed with the wiring connections up front by the switches, there are (2) female plugs that have a bunch of jumper wires going between each of the holes like they are joining each other together. Well when all those wires are connected it's like it is shorting all the letters together, if you break the connection there the switches will show as open/close like they should, but then no signal gets to the selection solenoid so it won't engage, and as such you can't select a letter or a number. Anyone know how this particular set of plugs is supposed to be wired on one of these units? Anyone that could snap a picture of the plugs on their Wurlitzer or a unit of someone's would be greatly appreciated! Rob |
