Must Visit Bookstores in San Francisco?
I hope to have some time tomorrow afternoon to do some booking in San
Francisco. What's your must-visit bookstore in San Francisco? (I'm more interested in nonfiction than fiction, more scholarly than popular, more antiquarian than modern.) William M. Klimon http://www.catholicbookcollector.com |

It's in Berkeley, Serendipity Books on University. Perfect suggestion, John. It's actually been 15 years since I've been booking in Berkeley--so it was not on the tip of my brain. In any event, I hoofed it over to the East Bay, got to spend an hour browsing Serendipity, and had an outstanding conversation with Peter Howard. I went on to a Thai restaurant recommended by Peter and then to Cartesian, Shakespeare & Co., Moe's, and Cody's. Moe's was as great as I remember it. Many thanks for the suggestion. William M.
