For the banknote collector.

The former Royal Bank of Scotland HQ at 42 St Andrew Square Edinburgh is up
for sale, it's expected to go for over £10m. Billy

Hopefully it includes a vault, a nice place to store a collection.

A shop in Castle Douglas Scotland is in a former bank branch and the walk in
safe is still there, removal would be difficult and expensive of course.

There are probably many shops in former bank branches scattered around the
country. Billy

Old bank buildings are put to various uses in many towns in the US. A
writer in
Bank Note Reporter visits a lot of small towns that had national banks
and reports
on what has happened to the old buildings, some are empty and in
terrible condition
others have been coverted to various businesses and some are private
residences.
A really nice one in Hooversville, Penn. was shown in a recent issue
but had the
vault removed still a very impressive and well taken care of brick
building.

Here they are usually now Home loan institutions, at least all the ones
downtown are.
