Just ask a library that has journals etc. bound
in a way you like. Of course you cannot expect
the same volume discount . . .

Just as an experiment, and without wishing to appear a smart-arse,
Googling "yellow pages" and "Bay area" brought up a series of pages
with 87 bookbinders on them. Starting here.

What you probably need to do before phoning around for quotes, is to
decide exactly what you want, so you can be fairly specific about what
you want them to do for you.

At a guess, most bookbinders will offer a range of prices depending on
the nature of the job, whether it needs additional stitching and the
types of materials that are to be used.

Again at a guess,, I very much doubt if any bookbinders will be that
much cheaper than any of the others, for similar quality work, as
skilled labor and the necessary equipment costs the same amount
of money, unless the work is sent abroad. Which probably wouldn't
apply to one-offs. Anyway you should soon find out after phoning
around.
