I would appreciate it if someone could recommend a bookbinder who
specializes in antiquarian books in the New York City area.

I can recommend Denis Gouey in nearby CT (look him up on the web). A
real craftsman. There are also the "high end" binders like Weitz in NYC
-- but can take months and many $.
