"These are fairly scarce, but not that uncommon" Huh?

Boy, my XP did not like that *.pdf, the CPU chip went crazy there for a
while.
I think I will uninstall the adobe reader.
Anyone know of a lite version of the reader?

Try Foxit PDF Reader. http://www.foxitsoftware.com/
It's a very fast freeware pdf reader. IMHO, much better than Adobe.

Hi Rod,

I never had any problem with Adobe Acrobat reader : the only drawback
for me is that it takes sooo looong time to open :-(((
(I use Adobe Acrobat 6.0)

I once tried a free pdf reader (I can't recall the name of it : it may
be Foxit PDF Reader or not ???).
But this particular software was *very* intrusive, wanting to open
*itself* nearly all the files of my computer.
This whithout any notice. May be I made a mistake but I was very
disappointed and had to uninstall it quickly.

This small warning to you, just in case ...

N.B. After writing this I found that my software was not Foxit PDF
Reader but PDF Creator !
