DC5 8 Tracks?
After watching the DC5 being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of
Fame, I was wondering how many of their albums were available on 8 track? I have a copy of their Greatest Hits on Epic, but haven't seen any other titles. Anyone know if other tapes were made in the 60s-70s? BTW...it was rather shocking to see how much the 3 remaining members have aged! Dave looks like he has gone thru some cosmetic surgery with unflattering results. I guess not seeing them in the public eye for over 35 years doesn't allow you to keep up with their appearance changes. They still are one of my favorite bands from the early British invasion, and bring back fond memories whenever I hear one of their songs. I also own the double History CD that came out in 1993. I guess old Dave is making availble via iTunes another Hits collection....I'd like a box set or reissue of all their LPs as twofers, but that probably won't be happening as long as DC's still alive and holding on to the archives. If he waits much longer no one will remember or care about that stuff! |

BTW...it was rather shocking to see how much the 3 remaining members have aged! Dave looks like he has gone thru some cosmetic surgery with unflattering results. I guess not seeing them in the public eye for over 35 years doesn't allow you to keep up with their appearance changes. snip "Worse" would be John Kay (Steppenwolf) with his Ron Popeil "spray the bald spot" hair...truly disgusting. If he waits much longer no one will remember or care about that stuff! snip We're living long enough now to see exactly what happened to our folks' Big Band-era pop hits...sinking into oblivion. The Los Angeles area no longer has ANY Big Band/standards radio outlets; they had three, then two, then one, and it went...classical...on AM, yet! Sales of things like Time-Life '40s collections have tanked, and I don't think they'll be offering any more. We're seeing the same thing happen to '50s, and now, '60s pop. Lost in the sands of time. I note that the perennial "oldies" station in LA, KRTH (former sister station to the most famous of all "Boss Radio" outlets, KHJ, in the '60s and '70s) has moved the clock forward. Now, stuff like Pet Shop Boys and Mr. Mister are "oldies!" |
