I am almost totally unenthusiastic about this latest program. I am even
having a hard time getting the DC quarter as the banks that made the
State Quarters available seem to have stopped with the HI quarter. And
I won't even mention the availability of the pennies...

Same here. WHH Dollars flow like water, although very few of us are
using them. The only DC quarters I've seen so far were sent to me by
a friend who lives near Denver. 2009 Cents? Believe it or not, one
small, local bank here knew NOTHING about them until I provided info
from the Mint's web site. The major area banks say they "may or may
not" get them.

Ditto Jerry. I received a roll of Denver mint DC quarters today from
my regular trader, who also sent me some 'D' mint WHH dollars. I went
to 4 banks in an attempt to obtain a couple rolls, without success. I
know they are here SOMEWHERE because I have gotten 3 in change, but a
roll? Can't seem to find them...yet.

I tried my regular bank today - a branch of a huge regional chain that
does lots of business - and got nothing. So I went to another nearby
bank, not expecting much because it never has more than one car parked
out front so what kind of coin traffic could they have? No new
Lincolns yet, but they had tons of DC quarter rolls, and 13 rolls of
hand-rolled halves from a customer. Judging from the first roll, I'm
going to be spending a lot of beat-up Kennedys in my pocket change,
but most times I've never gotten one, let alone 13 rolls of halves.
You just never know where stuff will pop up.
