Deciding whether to hang on to a relatively new bill

I worked at a bank back in 1996 when the $20 bill was redesigned. When
the first shipments of the new bills arrived, I took the first bill off
the first bundle and put it into a protective sleeve where it has
remained ever since. The serial number ends in 0001, which I thought
was pretty cool but since I'm not a currency collector I have no idea
if it matters.

Anyway, I thought that it would be cool to hang onto to that in case it
would be worth anything someday. Well, more than $20, at least. :-) I
have no frame of reference, though, so I don't know if it's even worth
hanging on to. I could think of several things I could spend $20 on.

I guess I'm asking you to put on your fortune teller hats, but is there
an even decent chance that such a bill would be worth anything someday,
or are there just too many of those around? My suspicion is that there
are so many of them and they're so new, there just is not going to be
any demand, at least until I'm very old.
