Default Portuguese Timor $60 Coin??

Hi,

We've just found this in the travel box and wondered if it had any value?

All advice gratefully received.

Please reply to the group as you will not get through at the email address

Cheers,

You could follow this (and similar) auctions to get an idea.

Without a picture to verify for sure, I'm guessing that it is a 1958 60
centavos, a rather odd denomination in a system where 100 centavos equal one
escudo. Composition is copper-nickel-zinc, and the coin is listed as KM-12.
It is actually a higher value coin than we usually see posted here for info:
fine, $1.25; very fine, $2.75; extra fine, $12; unc., $30

Thanks for the directions everybody. I think we'll just tuck it away
in the curiosity box for another half century or so.

Tim, the link above to the Ebay auction relates to an example of this
exact coin. Does that help?

Cheers,

PC
