Wasn't one of the Hardy boys accused by the father of
the Bobbsey twins of certain indiscretions with his
daughter that resulted in a sort of shotgun marriage,
around 1938? He was 18, she was 17.

They're still married, the longest married couple from
Ridgemont High. (She would've graduated class of
'39, but had to drop out. He'd already graduated
just before their marriage.) She told him back
in 1990 that there'd be no more whoopee until the
garage was cleaned up. A neighbor across the
street noticed that all of a sudden Phil Hardy
had the cleanest damned garage on the block,
and then *his* wife gave him the same ultimatum.

A few months later, every garage in the
neighborhood was spotless and the local women had
formed a coffee klatch informally called the
Lysistrata League of Ridgemont Heights. Channel
12 sent a reporter out to investigate, but
nobody was talking.

I think I'll sell this to Keillor.

Hmm...What's wrong with the above statement?
What is wrong is the fact that there was any
"Franklin W. Dixon."
