Stylophiles On-line: A short caveat

Bill Riepl is doing great work getting the new Stylophiles site
operative. The site is www,stylophiles0nline.com. He's putting up the
archive of Stylophiles from December, 2002 onward which includes the
early version of my series on Waterman. I want to provide a short
caveat when it comes to the pieces on Waterman I wrote for the on-line
version in 2003. I did not know of the Day Rubber Company archive
until after the first installment in the on-line magazine was
published. I didn't get to see it until July, 2003. It turned out to
be a trove of information. Additionally, I hadn't seen several of the
legal decisions in patent suits until last fall. The result is that
there are inaccuracies in the on-line articles that I corrected in the
print version. On the other hand, the print version is much shorter
and rather less detailed than the on-line because paper costs more
than electrons. If you're reading one beside the other, you may find
some discrepancies not otherwise noted in either place. If you get
confused, please send me an e-mail and I'll try to clear it all up.
