From the pictures it is hard to tell whether or not there is any mint
luster left ... this is important in determining whether or not a
coin is truly AU or merely XF-45. The color also seems to be a bit
off ... looks more like a pre-1864 CuNi cent to me as far as the
color goes. Perhaps from an old cleaning?

Unfortunately, IMHO the pictures do show much too much rub to qualify
for AU according to Rick Snow's grading rules. And while the ribbon
is distinct from the hair, diamonds are almost worn off and the tips
of the feathers as well as the reverse wreath are pretty smooth. I'd
give it a solid XF-40, though others might see only VF-35.
