Cleaned, struck thru grease with die abrasion. 1921D's are notoriously bad.

The orangepeel effect around several devices is reminiscent of sea
salvage, to me. The otherwise too-smooth areas look like perhaps the
coin was polished before being in the ocean? Interesting to
speculate.

Yeah--corrosion looks about right. With '21D's it wouldn't take much.
I was also thinking maybe someone took some of that Nic-a date to it?
