ebay sellers that don't leave feedback
I have an eBay rating of 215 unique positive feedbacks out of 311 total
positive, no negatives, no neutral, so a positive feedback is actually not all that important to my rating. But sellers (and buyers though it is almost always a seller) that do not leave feedback.....really chap my a$$. Sellers that leave feedback once a month is understandable. I don't have a problem with that. For the others, I have made the effort to say everything was fine, ok, hunky dory, excellent, greatest experience of my life, orgasmistic even. Why do some sellers tend to ignore this feature? Dale It is the little things in life that tend to really really tic me off. |

Anyway it really aggravates me when no feedback happens. I know I shouldn't let it bother me but........it does. I have contacted some about it with successful results but then there is the possibility that you may aggravate someone by doing that. They have not much to lose by giving a neg at that time. Who knows what to do. Dale |

Believe it or not, there really are people that do not live and die by their eBay rating. Don't take me wrong about this, which you obviously did, I believe what you say. I do not live and die by my eBay rating. It is like the "let me search for 30 min in my purse for the exact change for the teller" people, or the "I can drive 25 mph in a 55 mph zone if I want to" people, or the people that, at a store take back the $0.69 cent item and take 20 min because they thought it was the $0.49 item or the people that call my office at 11.59 AM or drop by for an hour visit at 4:59 PM. So in effect it is my aggravation that is caused by people that live almost solely in their own little world and have no concept that there exists an entire world out there where other people exist except for the purpose to fill their world with animated characters. Why do some sellers tend to ignore this feature? Dale It is the little things in life that tend to really really tic me off. Dale, I think I feel differently. When I see my fb number change, I will check the feedback page to read the comment. As long as everything is fine, I then remove the image from my website and all transaction related emails from my received and sent files (me the seller). After a couple of months, if I still am carrying some transaction emails from that long ago ( me the seller), I assume that everything was ok despite no fb ( And this could be a poor assumption, but I do not feel obligated to follow up. The buyer can let me know of a problem in a reasonable amount of time or it's not really a problem. --- yep, I have an attitude.). After a couple of months I eliminate any emails from old transactions and don't give it a second thought. So, I guess I use fb as sort of a clearinghouse and roughly 2 months as a clearinghouse if no fb. I just checked ( maybe for the first time in 8 years, maybe not. I don't know.) and I have left 2146 total fb and received 1924, not such a big difference. With only 974 unique, I may have a better ratio of receiving to giving, since, as a buyer, I tend to repeat business with the good guys and I seldom venture out to new faces. Anyway, I appreciate fb more when I sell than when I buy. When I buy, I want the product I expect. If I get that product, I leave a positive and don't look back and don't really care if I get feedback. When I sell, I really like positive feedback since that is when I know I have been acceptable. I have got some nice positive feedback on several occasions when the transaction did not complete as intended ( lost in mail, or not satisfied with coin and returned, etc.). When I am a seller though, no feedback is disconcerting because I often wonder if the buyer was dissatisfied but quietly so. Although even then, fb would not be needed if the buyer would just email me that the product was received and ok or not. Honestly, I don't recall a seller ever not leaving fb, although that may be because I paid no attention. I do have a few buyers who never leave feedback and I know that because of the two month ritual of erasing emails I occasionally have to do. I am going to venture a guess that most of the discrepancy between my received and given numbers is from my buyers and not my sellers. Just a guess, though. Bill |

Dale I don't like the people who stop and visit in the Wal-Mart aisles, not leaving enough aisle space for me to push my cart through. Grrr, if I were God, lightning strikes and all that. Bill |

ebay sellers that don't leave feedback
"Mr. Jaggers" offered the following thought about it:
We're not talking life or death here, just common courtesy. If one has the time to participate in eBay, whether as buyer or seller, then in my view he has the time to consummate the transaction with feedback. What he said. Amistad 'couldna sed it better meself' |

Although some people don't live or die by their eBay rating, you must
keep in mind that others do! I feel that it is nothing less than a common courtesy that should be adhered to by both sides. Once a seller receives payment - feedback should be left. Once a buyer receives their item and they are happy with it - they should do the same. As a buyer primarily, I leave feedback immediately upon receipt. If the seller hasn't left me feedback within a week I start harassing them for feedback. "I left you a positive, why haven't you reciprocated? Was there a problem with the transaction?". Guess I am 'old-school'. |

Mr. Jaggers wrote: And when you harass them for feedback, do they ever harass you with a negative? There are such birds. Mr. Jaggers Maybe harass was the wrong word to use, but no, never got a neg. Yup, there are such birds out there but I think that so far everyone has been civil. I am still waiting for 4 feedbacks right now, one guy I might have a problem with because I haven't received everything I paid for...yet. He thinks that he *MAY* have sent 2 packages. Left him positive feedback for the ones I have received, no feedback for what I haven't received. |
