by Henry Berry, book reviewer

The third edition of the Warman's Flea Market Price Guide is now
available. It is a fairly recent addition to the well-known Warman's line of
price guides both buyers and sellers in the field of antiques and collectibles
have come to rely on. As editor Ellen Shroy notes in her Introduction, "We put
our fingers on the pulse of the marketplace" by visiting numerous regular and
new flea markets in preparation for this latest edition. Its categories reflect
what's being sold at flea markets and prices for a variety of items in the many
categories. The categories can be looked at as a marketing guide for what is of
interest to buyers. For example, as Shroy points out, "There's not much sense
in listing prices for potholders if no one is collecting them." With countless
photographs of all types of items and related descriptions and prices, brief
introductions to the numerous categories, and in many cases resources such as
periodicals, books, and organizations noted, the Flea Market Price Guide is one
of the basic tools for anyone seriously involved in the field. Another useful
resource is a listing by major flea markets by state.

Henry Berry is the author of the booklet HOW TO MAKE MONEY FROM THE ESTATE
SALES AND AUCTIONS. He's also a book reviewer and freelance writer and editor.
