Default 1953 $2 bill

I'm curious about a $2 bill that I recently received. It's a 1953A
and it is a star bill - it has red lettering and the serial number
starts out with a *. Does that make it worth more than just a regular
$2 bill?

Thanks.

Melinda

Melinda in very fine condition it has a $20 book value. Uncirculated it has
a $90 book value. That makes it worth about three times more than the same
series date without the star. Star notes are replacement notes for notes
that are found defective during the printing process and generally comprise
fewer than 1% of all notes. That is what makes them valuable.
