400 Years Old Romantic Affair, on Stamps

My new page was inspired by the second stamp issue of the Ireland Postal
Administration, dedicated to paintings from the Irish National Gallery
Collection. Two of stamps reproduce very nice paintings by the Dutch artist
Gabriel Metsu. They are shown on the page:

together with their "parents", works of the great Vermeer.

For romantic souls (and for gossips goers): Metsu's paintings strongly
suggest an about 400 years old romantic affair.
