I prefer to modify my machines for free play in a way that allows me to
easily convert them back at some later date. For the SS-160 era Seeburgs, I defeat the credit subtract solenoid's function in the credit unit. Since the movement of this solenoid sometimes activates other circuits, the electrical signal to the solenoid can't be cut to achieve free play. I usually just move the spring on the subtract pawl so that the solenoid's function doesn't remove credits from the counter any more. So long as any credits have been entered, they will remain and the box will allow free selections indefinitely. -- Charley All outgoing e-mail is scanned for viruses by Norton Anti Virus 2004 "geezer" wrote in message m... hi group,i have a ss-160 that i have to keep making credits on to play it.can i jump a wire or something to make it always free play?or switch something in the album pricing unit..thanks..mark |

Mark:
What Charley didn't say is that if you try various ways to do it electrically, most if not all approaches keep one or more of the relays or solenoids energized all the time. They are not made to be energized full time, and will eventually fail from the heat. So one of the mechanical changes is much less likely to cause a failure. -- Crazy George Remove N O and S P A M imbedded in return address |
