This guy at least has some real test gear, and is obviously a surplus
store customer. Lots of '70s H-P stuff. The alignment tapes are a
LOT better than anything Noodles could crank out, for sure,
but...since they're made on an 8 track cart machine, they're still
probably not up the same standards of a Nortronics original, although
time has diminished those old tapes' usefulness.

Charlie Nudo's tapes are a cynical fraud, aimed at stupid buyers who
don't know any better. He has been ripping people off with these
fakes for years now, leaving scores of misaligned 8 track machines all
over the place. However, many have gone after "Noodles" for refunds,
as I did, including a gent in England, who demanded a refund as soon
as he got the "NudoFraud" tape.

Charlie Nudo's tapes are simply bad quality blanks shoved into one of
his home machines, using the really bad, duplicated G-C Electronics
"test tape" as a master. The G-C tape wasn't very good to start with,
and are useless for measuring frequency response or speed errors. The
Nortronics AT-520 is made on calibrated RTR machines and is as good as
any of their RTR tapes...which is OK. Best is to use a 3.75 IPS 160
or 185 nW/m Ampex or MRL full track alignment tape spooled into an 8
track cart to get the fluxivity reference and freq response (after
correcting for fringing effect in the bass) and then use a good music
cart to check head height. Setting azimuth using a music cart never
works out right...period...and using a dupe of any alignment tape is
pointless. Charlie Nudo cannot get his feeble brain around those
simple points, which have been an axiom of analog tape recording since
the earliest days.

This guy might do a pretty good job on any 8 track...he's got at least
some good gear and knows the basics, none of which Charlie Nudo does
or has....period.

Charlie Nudo is a fraudster who was trying to "crack the market" on 8
tracks to bolster his tiny income as a steel washer salesman at a
declining aerospace supplier plant in Mountain Top, PA. Didn't work
out too well for ya there, did it Noodles? You can't defraud ALL of
the people ALL of the time, which you tried to do, and it blew up in
your face. Too bad!

Barry is a good guy- I've spoken to him at length by phone a few
times- he makes his own test tapes using a tone generator.

Everything "DeserTBob" is saying, is a complete falsehood.
"DeserTBob" is an unemployed illegal alien from the West Coast USA.
He was
a
former Bell Systems employee "phone guy" who was fired from his job-
he faked an
injury to get disability- so now he sits home and trolls the
internet,
harassing people- for lack of anything else constructive to do.

"DeserTBob" bought 2 items from "66fourdoor" on Ebay at one time.
One
was an 8-track alignment tape- the other was a VHS movie tape.
"DeserTBob" was unhappy with the items, the seller agreed willingly
to
issue a full refund (still that seller's policy to this day), once the
items were returned. "DeserTBob"
returned the alignment tape and received a full $40 refund.
"DeserTBob" kept the VHS tape because in reality, there was nothing
wrong with either item- and the movie tape was a rare out of print NON-
COPYRIGHTED
movie, otherwise unavailable. (it has since been re-released on
DVD). The returned alignment tape was later resold to another buyer
on Ebay, who left positive feedback for it.

"DeserTBob" then left a negative feedback for the seller, even though
he got a full refund- "DesertBob" has continued to harass the seller
and seller's family ever since, for over 3 years now.

This is nothing new to "DeserTBob"- rather, it's way of life for him-
he also purchased (8) tapes from another seller for ONE CENT each,
only to leave the seller 8 negative feedbacks, stating "not worth a
penny".

Eventually a large quantity of complaints started flooding into Ebay,
concerning "DeserTBob" and his auction harassment. Ebay then banned
DeserTBob's Ebay username, which was "VOXPOPPER".

"DeserTBob" then returned to Ebay using a second name, calling
himself
"XCALIBER44"- and started once again harassing various Ebay sellers'
auctions. He was again reported to Ebay, and "XCALIBER44" was also
banned.

These current slanders/libels against Ebay sellers by "DeserTBob" are
completely unfounded- if you check the seller's feedback, you'll find
they have 99.9% positive feedback, with only 2 negatives in 6 years.
"DeserTBob" simply has an axe to grind, for being banned from Ebay
himself.

Furthermore, "DeserTBob" is decidedly anti-American, anti-USA, hates
the military, and is basically a socialist-communist-liberal left-wing
radical. He fears and despises anyone religious in any way, and he
also
doesn't believe in God. "DeserTBob" once posted a comment on Usenet
that said "**** Christmas". He can't accomplish anything himself,
so he tears down other good Americans who are out there, trying to
make a
living. He goes through a yearly holiday depression and attacks
everyone on the internet, even moreso during holiday seasons- he has
no
family to speak of, and obviously suffers from not being loved by his
mother enough, as a child.

Also, why would a grown man have a picture in his home of another man
he only knows from the net? Why do you have his picture? That's says

Charlie Nudo found and printed a picture of another poster who he lost
a flame war with, he's a sick person and this is proof of his
sickness.

"Good luck there?" What's that mean? He makes first generation tapes
using calibrated tones at reference fluxivity. How "good" his tapes
are, I don't know since I haven't tested one on a calibrated machine,
but his are definitely closer to the real deal than anything you could
ever crank out, Noodles. He's also an avionics electronics tech and
has electronics ability...something you lack in spaces.
