Default What's wrong with this coin? Broadstrike?

Note the back and front scans of the coin. The rim is perfect, so it does
not appear that the coin was mashed in any way, but possibly struck in this
fashion. Anybody out there care to comment? I certainly appreciate any
feedback.

Doesn't look like a broadstrike to me. If authentic then it looks like a
strike thru.
It is a real mess whatever it is ;-) looks cool.

Yes, not a broadstrike. Perhaps a defective planchet is also a possibilty.

So, is my next step a coin shop to find out if it is authentic or are the
pictures enough? And if it is authentic, how much would something like that
be worth?
Thanks,
Greg

Struck through some glob of something. Extremely dramatic. Get it in an
ANACS
slab and it should bring $200 on ebay (if you pay $19.95 to make it a
featured item),
since state quarters are so hot.

It's struck through something. If it was a planchet defect, the lack of
metal would make for lousy detail. Instead, the detail is extra sharp from
the extra material in the striking area.
