Hi,

The article by Bill Sharpe, "Computers and Stamps" in the "Linn's
Stamp News" of
December 21, 2009 had the following link:

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Stamps

I started browsing with the stamps but there is a ton of images other
than stamps that may, or may not, be stamp related. Click on stamps
by country and at the bottom of the page is a link:

Hidden category: Meta categories

Click on the link and have fun. I know Bill reads this news group and
he may have further info, or comments, about the site.

I looked at the hidden category: meta categories and didn't find
anything related to stamps there, but it was only a cursory look, so who
knows what else lurks among these images.

If you go to wikimedia's main page --
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page
-- you'll open yourself to many hours of browsing images.
You could, for example, enter "coins" in the search box near the top
left of the page. You'll get to the coins category where you'll find the
message: This category has become too crowded. Then look at the
subcategories. One of them is "coins on stamps" which shows four such
stamps. You'll find the same four stamps in the stamps category by
looking for stamps by topic and selecting money on stamps. But you'll
also see nine more stamps with paper money shown on them.

Hi Bill,

I found the hideen images interesting. My wife is from Colombia and we
found a lot of images for her town of Tunja and the province of
Boyaca. In fact her childhood home is on a Colombian air mail, C247.
I guess the hidden images might fit into "collateral" material.
