Nice one, Anton.
wallpaper circa 1960's is very valuable here in Australia
if you can find it. Quite a few collectors around.
Designs that were considered so ugly in the eighties,
find new life and appreciation.

I was at an auction mart last friday week, and amongst the flotsam and
jetsam,
a mundane turned leg coffee table came under the hammer,
it rose from $15 to $650, there was a hidden story in there somewhere.

I think I read today someone on ebay is offering a slice of a famous wedding
cake
from 1871.

Taking "wallpaper" as a thematic,
here is the wallpaper on Montgolfier's balloon featured on a Nicaraguan
stamp.

And when your running out of stamps for your wallpaper, you can always
switch to money bills:

Note/question about wallpaper stamps:
I do remember a movie (IIRC a Dutch one) in which a wife takes revenge on
her husband by sticking his mint stamp collection to apartment walls. Anyone
remembering the title?

Bye

I do not think this is the one, but it is a recent Dutch film , that
includes
a stamp collector.

Black Book (2006 aka Zwartboek) , Directed by Paul Verhoeven

A slam-bang indictment of anti-Semitism and barbarity in which a
Jewish woman and a Gestapo officer fall in love.

http://www.impawards.com/2006/poster..._book_ver2.jpg

Verhoeven says that Black Book — his first Dutch movie in 23 years —
is a “correction” to his 1977 Soldier of Orange. In that film, Rutger
Hauer
and his aristocratic schoolmates become Dutch resistance heroes, and
the story ends with Germany’s defeat.

This time, the resistance fighters are flawed, a couple of Nazis are
conscientious —Müntze (Sebastian Koch) is a gorgeous, sensitive,
stamp-collecting Gestapo chief — and Holland’s liberation is followed
by its despicable treatment of Nazi collaborators. Nobody’s clean.

Some rare Dutch stamps play a part in the story.
