SG 132a (die II) of 1926. Should be watermarked mult script CA, c-s
paper, p14. Minimal CV used, a pound or two mint. Die I is worth a
little bit more.

But that was too easy. Is there something I've missed?

Ah, but it was the purple one (SG = "bright violet") that you showed
in your OP. There is, indeed, no sign of a blue one in any cat I have.

Neither in mine - what about colour fading? The cancel looks a bit week too.

I have seen Canadian stamps where the red colour fades
completely with a long exposure to sunlight.

Purple - red = blue?

Per the scan, the 1d is violet and (per UPU rules)
the 2 1/2 d (5 cents) rate is blue.

And here's one for Rodney. Australia used in Sierra Leone.
(on cover of course, for non-believers.)

Well it "fiddlesticks!" to SG
I see purple every time, Bright Violet?, humbug.

I addressed my "light or chemical damage" folder
and these two are good examples of purple fade to blue

(the lhs stamp courtesy of Bobstamp)

Thanks for the correction, I'll place this example in my
folder as well.

Wow! thanks for that scan Blair,
I have not seen that cover before, very exciting.

I have posted this before, but for those interested
the mystery behind the AIF overprints. (and like yours, addressed to Surrey Hills)
