How can I find out the original prices of proof sets from 1980-1998? Aso
what were the prices of quarter proof sets 1999-2001?

The current "Redbook" lists the issues prices:

Here are the issue prices:
1980 $10.00
1981-1992 $11.00
1993-1998 $12.50
1999-2001 $19.95

Note that these prices are for regular issue sets, not special sets or
silver editions.

Off thread but it's always 'good' when stuff goes for less than issue price
years later. Haven't checked what that's true for lately I think maybe for
some early 70's mint sets it was true at one time.

Default Proof Sets 1980-1998 - orig price

Truly nice early sets from the 1970's (in particular 1973-1976) are
very hard to find with no haze or spots. Many of these sets have been
broken up for slabs or for rolls. I am amazed when I come across a very
nice gem set and the dealer is willing to let it go for Greysheet bid.
