Default Pen skipping

I have a brand new Duke fountain pen, medium-fine numb. I like the pen but
notice that it frequently will skip. For example, when I sign my name, the
first line of the first letter doesnt write, then the ink flows fine. It is
usally when I first start writing with it. I store it nip side up, and have
washed the nib and converter well in cold water, and it still skips. Any
ideas as to why? thanks.

Jeff

Try flushing the nib with some 409 mixed with water (75% water 25% 409)
using the converter. If this doesn't help, then send it back to where you
bought it and have them fix or replace the pen. More than likely the nib is
out of alignment and need some tweaking (you can tell if this is so by
looking at the nib under a loupe). Hope this helps.

Best wishes,
