Points for "East of Eden"

Thanks for the info. Took me forever to get back to read this group as
AOL dropped newsgroups and had to set up a google one.
Now I am not certain as to which edition I have. My copy has the
correct price on flap, and the word "bite" as described. However, the
back of the jacket has reviews rather than the photo of Steinbeck, and
the copyright page states "Copyright 1952" without any statement about
first published by Viking Press. If anyone has a copy matching mine and
can shed some more light, I would appreciate it. Thanks.
