Autograph questions ?

I'm new to autograph collecting and have a couple of questions that I hope
some of you can answer.
-I sent an autograph request to Rebecca De Mornay with a S.A.S.E. and a
color photograph (with my name and address stamped on the reverse side). I
received a black and white personally signed photo. Do things like this
normally happen ? What are the chances of getting my original back (it was a
beauty) ?

Usually and I hate to say this... when they keep your item and send a
"replacement", it's possible it's secretarial and there's probably no
way to get it back. They get hundreds of letters probably and she
can't come in and sign everything. Sometimes it could be legit if
they have her presign...

Today, I also received a black & white photo from Rebecca DeMornay. My photo
was also not returned and the black & white photo is a pre-print.
