OK you guys have made it clear, the Norfolk Island Species at Risk
stamp in the Australia Souvenir Sheet stamp cannot be used in
Australia. Aussie Post sold a worthless stamp as far as the continent
is concerned.
There is another recent Souvenir Sheet with one Pitcairn Island $2.50
stamp and a Vanuatu 150 stamp. Due to the difference in face value of
the stamps I would think these stamps are to be used in their own
country.
1994 Italy and San Marino Souvenir Sheet. One stamp for Italy, one
stamp for San Marino. Each stamp valid only in the country indicated.

That may not be the case,
we paid for all the other stamps in the sheet, and the NI was a giveaway.

Nope, the price for the five individual Australia stamps was the same
as the Souvenir Sheet with the "foreign" stamp.
Therefore you did pay for the Norfolk Islander. 0.55 AUS$.

I think this situation first happened more than four decades ago, right?

I tend to think collectors can simple collect whatever they wish to... and then a AU 55 cents is not like one of those prestige booklets...

So what's new ... just more dross for the collectors to shell out funds.

It's not going to change until the collectors stop paying for such labels..

Maybe it is starting. The USPS LOST $300 million last year.
