Credit where credit is due: Just received the first coin I ever bought
from Frank Provasek. Came very quickly and was professionally packaged.
His auctions, from what I've seen anyway, are also professional and
without the overt salesmanship you sometimes see in auctions by other
coin dealers. Nothing here is extraordinary or not to be expected. Just
worth a bit of praise.

After all, what other dealer more-or-less accurately grades his coins, packs
them well and ships them in a timely manner?
Or maybe Frank is just the last dealer that hasn't become exasperated enough
with Reid to refuse to sell to him anymore.

Yes, maybe the last dealer. Except that not one dealer has ever refused
to sell to me. But don't let the real world interfere with your
attempted nastiness. This is Usenet, after all, and you can say anything
you want using your brave anonymous handle.

Old beanie is a trip. He(?) seems to be the latest dweeb trying really hard
to fit into the hard-ass old fart club here. One day he's suggesting
somebody shoot themselves in the head, and the next he's suggesting that
everyone else is an ass. How ironic. Which is often the case with the
idiots in my killfile.

I think he's fully qualified for club membership.

Anonymity, or the lack thereof, has no bearing on the validity of opinion.

I've said before that "Beanie" and others like him, unfortunately,
define Usenet today. Usenet to a quite large extent is a nasty flame pit
where the angriest and most unhappy dominate, flinging out their little
nastiness from their little anonymous handles, attempting only to bring
discussion down to their level, which logically follows is their place
in the real world as well. Every time someone posts as "Beanie" just
did, you see the angry, unhappy person sitting there at his keyboard,
fuming at his lot in life.

What this does of course is chase off most more-or-less happy and
psychologically healthy people, normal people, who are put off by the
ugliness, as we've seen here countless times, with good people who've
been here for a long time leaving for just this reason and new people
staying very briefly for just this reason. Again, there's still some
useful, interesting talk, here as elsewhere on Usenet, and some normal
people. Killfiling the most blatant is one solution. But I still find
mild interest in observing this phenomenon, part of the online world,
and occasionally as now offering comment. This will bring on more of the
unhappy flame talk. The unavoidable nature of the beast.

Unfortunately, Usenet provides a forum for insufferably pompous know-it-alls
like Reid to attempt to build up their fragile egos by lashing out at their
betters.
If some woman was unfortunate enough to have married him, you can bet she rules
the roost and has him cowed into submission.
Undoubtedly, he will respond to this post with more of his self-serving blather.
