Lack of IQ probably has a lot to do with that. HEAD GAP is easily as important as tape speed. In fact, on many pro machines, when you get up to 30 IPS, the bass end starts GOING AWAY because the tape is running too fast for heads optimized for 7.5 and 15 IPS usage. This was especially a problem for Nortronics cheapie replacement heads when used in Ampex machines. The ratio of head gap width on playback in relationship to the length of the pole pieces was the culprit there, but then again, you're too stupid to understand how that works....right? Question for the ****tard: If the audio's on one track, what's on the other? :::watching Noodles frantically try to find the answer on Wikiwiki::: |
